El Minzah Hotel was the perfect place to stay for me as someone who was visiting Morocco for the first time! My partner, who came along with me, and I actually got a free upgrade to the suite room (the view from there was lovely!), which made the overall experience even better. 1. Great location - El Minzah was so close to places that we wanted to see, which were all in a short walking distance: Grand Socco, Tangier Medina, Saveur de Poisson, Gran Cafe de Paris, El Dorado, etc. 2. 24/7 guest service - if you needed something, there’s always someone at the reception desk. We checked out at 5am and there was someone looking out for our airport taxi. Also, the hotel staff was multilingual, friendly, and approachable and should you have any requests, someone is usually there to help you. (We did have a lock issue, where our lock wouldn’t allow two key cards - one for me and one for my partner - to unlock the same door of our original suite but the hotel staff transferred us to another suite that allowed us to use two key cards - the technician there was nice and helpful as well!) The security guards were also nice and attentive, usually directing me to my rideshare or tour guide when they’re in front of the hotel. 3. Free breakfast! We were there every morning, and it was a great way to start off a busy day of traveling, especially if you’re on a budget. I’m also a fan of their buffet-style breakfast - having variety makes continental breakfast a more enjoyable no-cost eating experience. 4. Amenities - we enjoyed the TVs, snacks, and hot shower in our room. The restaurants at El Minzah were convenient to have when we were too tired to leave the hotel to eat (I got to try their wine bar one night and a glass of Chardonnay only cost 60 MRD/6 USD). There were also other amenities that we did not take advantage of but wished we could’ve tried them if we had more time (such as the spa, pool, and gym).

The hotel is beautiful, with lots of charm and centrally located in the city, close to the Old Medina. The decor gives a historic sense and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room had a view overlooking the bay. This was not a negative for me, but others should be aware: as it is a historic hotel, the size of the rooms are smaller than a quality new hotel. They are clean, comfortable, updated and beautifully decorated, but there are limits to the architecture.

Paul

Vintage, atmospheric hotel perfectly located overlooking Tangier harbor at the edge of the Medina in a very lively neighborhood of shops, restaurants and cafes. Views from my balcony were spectacular, sights in the Medina were a short stroll away, and there was a beautiful pool in the landscaped garden. Rooms and public areas are clean, comfortable, and charming. WiFi was strong in the room and at the pool. The hotel offers great value.

Michael

we were given a wonderful spacious suite with a sea view. The bed was so big and comfortable. The pool area is beautiful with wonderful greenery. The architecture is superb and I loved that it was visited by famous people in the 60s and 70s and black and white photos adorned the walls. The staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic with a great amount to choose from. I loved the location

Andrea

The staff was exceptional. They were more than helpful to a senior solo tourist. From my fist morning when I over slept and they still gave me breakfast to the fact that when I discovered that I had made flight reservations out of Casablanca and not Rabat, they arranged an early morning taxi for me. Morocco can be confusing to first time American tourist, but they made me feel at home.
